Perhaps no other community embodies and values its heritage like the Village of Ephraim. Located along the shores of Eagle Harbor with a panoramic view of Peninsula State Park’s Eagle Bluff and Horseshoe Island, Ephraim has carefully preserved its Norwegian and Moravian roots by making them a part of its modern life, complete with a Historic District. Ephraim was the LAST legal dry destination in the State of Wisconsin--no alcohol was (publicly) served until 2016. However, that being said, I've rarely sold an E;phriam home that didn't include an elaborate bar for entertaining.
At Anderson Dock, a historic logging pier found new life as an amazing art gallery, an impossibly tiny fire station built into a hill became a thriving museum, and log cabins are reborn as coffee shops, restaurants and storefronts. Ephraim is also home to the Ephraim Yacht Club, one of the only (and oldest) Yacht Clubs in the Midwest. The past is truly alive in Ephraim, where an ice cream parlor more than a century old is a downtown anchor and draws crowds from May through October and the "Winter Witch" is burned each June at a local festival known as Fyr Bal, where bonfires dot the shores of the Bay in a truly unique and historical local celebration.
